Monoammonium phosphate MAP

Product Details

Ammonium dihydrogen phosphate, a chemical reagent, also known as monoammonium phosphate, is a white crystal with a molecular formula of NH4H2PO4. It will be decomposed into ammonium metaphosphate (NH4PO3) when heated. It can be made by the reaction of ammonia and phosphoric acid. It is mainly used as fertilizer and Fire retardant for wood, paper and fabrics, also used in pharmaceuticals and ruminant feed additives.

Stable in the air. Slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in acetone. The aqueous solution is acidic with a pH of 4.3. The solubility in water at room temperature (20°C) is 37.4g.

Product Usage

【use】

Used as phosphate fertilizer and fire retardant for wood, paper and fabrics (such as as ember-killing agent for matchsticks and candle wicks), and also for making medicines. It is also used as a feed additive for ruminants.

[Preparation or source]

It is made by acid and alkali reaction between phosphoric acid and ammonia.

【other】

Stable in the air. When the temperature is higher than the melting point, it decomposes and loses ammonia and water, forming a mixture of ammonium metaphosphate and phosphoric acid. A small part of it decomposes at 100°C.

As a fertilizer, it is more suitable to apply ammonium phosphate during crop growth. Ammonium phosphate is acidic in the soil, and too much crystallization with seeds may have adverse effects. In acidity, it is better than calcium and ammonium sulfate, and it is also better in alkaline soil. Superior to other fertilizers; do not mix with alkaline fertilizers to avoid reducing fertilizer efficiency. For example, when lime is used in acid soils in the south, monoammonium phosphate should be applied after a few days.

Packaging, storage and transportation

The woven bag is lined with plastic film and sealed by sewing. Pay attention to sun protection, moisture proof, waterproof, and bag breakage to avoid loss.
